Simply stated it means all things are possible, there is hope! As I have worked with individuals and families during the struggles in their lives, I have found an increasing amount of hopelessness being expressed for any type of a future. More and more people are giving up and accepting what they call fate. They see in their own lives exactly what they hear about on the news or the internet; poverty is on the rise, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, “social class” (more than “race”) is now the dividing line between people, money is the power of this century, and so on. People are having a hard time finding hope when they realize that they are the poor, that they are the lowest class, that they are the ones with no power. How can they look toward the future with hope when they don’t even know how they are going to feed their family right now? And yet there is hope because all things are possible. Can you walk on water? Have you ever thought you could walk on water? I have asked this question of many people over the last several months and the answer is a resounding NO. We have been taught that walking on water (without any devices or freezing it) is impossible yet a man by the name of Peter did walk on water. He said, \"Come.\" So Peter got out of the boat, started walking on the water, and came toward Jesus. - Matthew 14:29 NRSV This verse from the Bible says to me that all things are possible. Jesus has called each and every one of us to “Come.” By this single word we have been given the power to change our lives for the better. There is hope in the future but it starts with a decision to not accept where we are right now and to “get out of the boat.” Did you know that we have the ability today to eliminate poverty? It’s true. Did you know that hunger could be eliminated? It’s true. Did you know that we can live together in “community?” It’s true. We have been taught that these things are not possible but with the word “Come” it is possible. WOW1429 (Walk on Water, Matthew 14:29) is about hope, it is about doing the impossible, it is about getting started with a decision to “get out of the boat. Each product carries a positive message for all people no matter who they are like “faith”, “peace”, “be”, “WOW”, and “get out of the boat.” My hope is that these messages will encourage people to make a decision to improve their lives and “Walk on Water.” I also want to give you my pledge that with the sale of each WOW1429 product $2.00 will be given to local and national organizations that are working to eliminate poverty. Each quarter I will give you an accounting of the number of products sold, the amount of money given and which organizations got it. So, I believe that I will one day walk on water will you join me in this hope? “Forever at the Door” Pastor Dave Loy Admin On Tuesday July 10 2007 - 09:27:42 | Comments are turned off for this item Admin On Friday April 06 2007 - 09:09:02 | Comment(s): 0 | ||
